LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A woman has died a week after being involved in a head-on collision last week near the Fairdale neighborhood.
According to authorities, officers responded to a call of a crash at 3rd Street Road and West Manslick Road shortly after 4 p.m. on Dec. 7.
Police said their initial investigation and witness statements revealed a passenger vehicle was going westbound on 3rd Street Road, when a vehicle going eastbound hit it head-on.
It's unclear why the driver crossed the yellow double line police added.
The car going westbound had two women in it police said. Both were taken to the hospital. Investigators said the driver, 64-year-old Barbara White, has succumbed to her injuries, and the woman in the passenger seat is expected to survive.
The driver of the vehicle going eastbound was not injured police said.
