Pedestrian dies after being hit by 2 vehicles while crossing street in Louisville

Investigators say a man was crossing a street near Preston Highway when he was struck and killed by two vehicles.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is dead after he was struck by two vehicles Tuesday night while attempting to cross a street in Louisville.

At about 11:30 p.m., Louisville Metro police responded to an accident with serious injuries in the area of Preston Highway and Fern Valley Road, according to an LMPD news release.

Authorities say the accident happened between the Liquor Barn and the UAW. 

Investigators believe a man wearing dark clothing was crossing the middle of the street near Preston Highway when he was hit by a car. He was then struck by another motorist while still in the roadway.

Both drivers remained on scene and reported the accident. EMS arrived on scene and pronounced the pedestrian dead.

LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating. As of this writing, the man has not yet been identified.
