19-year-old motorcyclist killed in collision with car inside Iroquois Park identified

Two days after a motorcyclist was hit and died from injuries suffered in the incident, authorities have now released his name.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A motorcyclist who was killed after a collision in Iroquois Park has been identified.

Nathan Filzek, 19, died from blunt force injuries, according to the Jefferson County Coroner.

Metro Police were called to the area of Rundill Road and Melody Lane around 7 p.m. Thursday following reports of the collision.

Investigators found Filzek, who was operating a motorcycle, pinned underneath a car. Details of how the collision happened have not been disclosed.

Filzek was given aid at the scene and was transported to the hospital, but later died.

LMPD’s Traffic Unit is handling the investigation into this incident.

No charges are pending at this time.
