LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Sewer line repairs will impact a couple of streets around Louisville beginning next week.
MSD said a portion of South Jackson Street between East Market and East Jefferson Streets will close to traffic on Dec. 13 for an emergency sewer line replacement project.
Officials confirmed a sewer pipe underneath South Jackson Street is partially blocked by debris and had some deterioration in several areas.
That 30-inch brick sewer line was built by hand in 1875 and has been in use for 148 years.
MSD will also repair a sewer line underneath South 20th Street between Cedar Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard next week. No exact date was give.
A 72-inch brick sewer line built in 1867 area will be repaired from the inside.
The road will be local access only.
