LOUISVILLE, Ky. — At least two people are in the hospital after a multi-vehicle collision on a busy Louisville interstate on Monday morning.
Around 8:30 a.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a crash involving several vehicles on I-64 East just before the I-265 ramps, according to an LMPD news release.
Officers on scene found four vehicles, including a commercial box truck, were involved in the crash.
Investigators believe the driver of the commercial vehicle read-ended a car, causing a chain reaction resulting in two other vehicles being struck.
Emergency Medical Services transported two people to nearby hospitals. Officials expect them to survive.
One crash victim refused treatment, authorities say.
LMPD is handling the investigation into the collision.
The roadway was blocked off for several hours on Monday morning until it reopened around 11 a.m.
