LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is dead after being hit by a car on the Gene Snyder Freeway on Monday, according to a press release from the Louisville Metro Police Department.
They say it happened around 2:15 p.m. at mile marker 12.7.
A man was attempting to remove an object from the road, possibly a ladder, when he was hot by a car.
Police say two other cars were also involved in the crash.
The man was taken to UofL hospital for treatment but later died from his injuries.
The drivers of all three cars involved were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
I-265 South is closed to traffic south of Preston highway. Police say it will be some time before the roadway opens.
They advise people avoid I-265 South and anywhere near the Preston/Smyrna area at this time.
