NEW ALBANY, Ind. — Editor's note: The above video is regarding TARC service in New Albany.
A portion of I-265 in New Albany was shut down Wednesday after a semi involved in a crash spilled fuel on the roadway.
I-265 westbound was closed at State Street early in the afternoon. According to New Albany police, the fuel spill "will require a thorough cleanup" and the highway will remain closed until further notice.
Traffic is being diverted to Grantline Road or State Street. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
Police Chief Todd Bailey said the semi and two cars were involved in the crash. Minor injuries were reported, but no one was taken to the hospital.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by New Albany police.
The interstate has reopened as of 2:15 p.m., officials said.
