LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Drivers on the Gene Snyder will likely experience delays over the next few days, but it's for a good reason. Crews will begin repairing potholes on I-265 starting Monday morning.
According to a release from I-Move Kentucky, the repairs will bring "some much-needed pothole relief" to the area between I-64 and Shelbyville Road. The potholes were likely caused by the recent stretches of winter weather.
The repairs are expected to begin on Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. Traffic will be reduced to one lane between Exit 25 and 27 in the northbound lanes to start. Once those repairs are complete, the southbound lanes will be reduced.
I-Move Kentucky said the work will continue until "repairs are complete" so there is no estimated end date.
Additional repairs will take place starting at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8. The right lane of I-265S will be closed between Old Henry Rd. and Shelbyville Rd.
Drivers are urged to be careful if they are traveling through construction areas. Signs and flaggers will be in place to warn drivers about lane closures and construction zones.
