LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Head's up drivers, a rehabilitation project is happening on the Outer Loop.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC), this rehabilitation project is meant to extend the roadway's life and improve driver comfort.

KYTC awarded the Bluegrass Contracting Corporation from Lexington with the $3.3 million contract.

A massive part of the project will be the milling and removal of existing payment and replacing it from mile point 5.470 near Briarcliff Road, all the way to mile point 7.717 near Donegal Drive.

Other improvements including new striping and sidewalk improvements.

KYTC warned motorists should prepare for lane closures, traffic shifts and possible delays during the project.

While the project is already underway on the eastbound side of Briarcliff Road, officials said it's expected to be finished by the fall of 2024.
