Town of Clarksville announces 10-month road closure; what you need to know

This stretch of road in southern Indiana will be closed for construction from Feb. 5 to Nov. 20.

CLARKSVILLE, Ind. — A scenic stretch of road in southern Indiana will be closed for more than ten months.

Riverside Drive will be closed to traffic between Ashland Park and the eastern Clarksville limits beginning Monday, Feb. 5, according to a Town of Clarksville news release.

The ten-month closure will allow crews to upgrade storm drainage, sanitary sewer and water facilities as a part of the Riverside Drive enhancement project.

Construction crews will also provide pedestrian and bicycle amenities and reconstruct the roadway pavement, city officials said.

City officials say the closure will likely stay in place through Nov. 20, 2024.

The detour for this closure is Winbourne Ave., Clark Blvd., South Clark Blvd., Missouri Ave., or West Market St. to Southern Indiana Ave. Click here to see a more detailed map of the detour and closure.
