TARC encourages Louisville to ‘Dump the Pump’ Friday

According to the American Public Transportation Association, a two-person household can save around $10,000 each year by using one car and riding public transit.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — TARC is participating a nationwide incentive Friday, asking people to ‘Dump the Pump’ and ride public transit.

According to the American Public Transportation Association, a two-person household can save an average of $10,000 each year by downsizing to one car and riding public transit.

In addition to savings, a TARC spokesperson says it’s also convenient.

“Jumping on TARC, you can get to work, you can get to school, you can get to appointments,” said TARC spokesperson Jenny Recktenwald. “It alleviates that burden on the environment, and for those passengers, and those commuters who are looking for a less expensive way to get around.”

If you take a trip and “Dump the Pump” on Friday, tag TARC on social media and you can win an unlimited 7-day TARC pass.
