LMPD investigating after woman crossing Newburg Road hit by vehicle

Police said the driver stayed at the scene.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police is investigating after a woman died after being hit by a vehicle on Newburg Road Wednesday evening.

Police said officers were called to the intersection of Newburg Road and East Indian Trail around 6 p.m.

Their preliminary investigation revealed a woman, whom the coroner's office identified as 63-year-old Trinity Sullivan, was attempting to cross Newburg Road when she was hit by a vehicle going northbound. Police added she was not using a crosswalk.

Investigators said they rendered first aid until EMS arrived; Sullivan later died at the hospital.

The driver did remain at the scene police said.
