SOAKER: Here's how much rain fell in the Louisville area

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville area saw an impressive amount of rain in the last 24 hours.

Rounds of showers and even a few thunderstorms affected central Kentucky and southern Indiana starting Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

The Louisville Metro saw the most rain out of all our neighbors. About 2.78 inches of rain was recorded at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.

Most counties saw the majority of rain Wednesday night as opposed to Thursday morning. Louisville received about 2.17 inches of rainfall Wednesday night before being topped off with 0.68 inches of rain the following morning.

Rain will return next week with possible snow flurries possible on Tuesday or Wednesday.
