A severe thunderstorm watch means conditions are favorable for the development of severe storms capable of producing tornadoes.
There is a level 2/5 risk for severe storms west of Louisville. The risk is a step lower for those residing east of of the city. The main threat will be damaging winds with these approaching storms. We can't rule out an isolated spin-up tornado in the line of storms.
