LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Thankfully, our very busy and stormy weather pattern is gradually settling down over the next couple of days. While severe weather is not expected, pop-up downpours may have you seeking shelter at times Friday afternoon and evening.

Part of our Weather Impact Alert plan is to not only tell you when severe weather will hit, but also prepare you for weather that is simply "impactful", meaning it could have you altering your outdoor plans. So, for Friday afternoon just have some rain gear ready, and have a spot to briefly take shelter if a heavy shower passes by your area.

The best chance for these spotty showers will be from now until about 9 pm.  Temperatures won't be as bad as they have been with highs in the upper 80s.

Scattered showers and storms will make for a nuisance this afternoon.

LOOKING AHEAD

A much-deserved dry pattern is on they way starting Saturday and continuing through much of next week. While the storms will be gone, the heat will hang around. High temperatures in the lower to mid-90s are expected through much of our first full week of August.
