Here's what roads will be closed for 55th annual Jeffersontown Gaslight Festival

If you're going to this year's Jeffersontown Gaslight Festival, be sure to plan your route and avoid these road closures.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Jeffersontown Police have released the street closings that will happen for the 55th annual Gaslight Festival this year. 

Watterson Trail in front of City Hall will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. according to authorities. There will be some interruptions from Watterson Trail to Dell Road and around Charlane Heights so participants can finish the course. 

Jeffersontown Police Officer Steve Fisher said traffic on Taylorsville Road won't be affected during this event; the run route will be closed at 8:30 a.m. as the run begins at 9 a.m.

Authorities will close the following streets at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday:

  • Watterson Trail at Taylorsville Road
  • Watterson Trail at Bruners Street
  • Watterson Trail at College Drive
  • Watterson Trail at Maple Road
  • Taylorsville Road near Barber Shop

On Thursday, Sept. 12, Taylorsville Road from Janlyn Road to Merioneth Road will be closed starting at 5 p.m. 

From 5:45 p.m. to 9 p.m., Taylorsville Road from Janlyn Road to Watterson Trail, Watterson Trail from Taylorsville Road to College Drive, and College Drive from Watterson Trail to Taylorsville Road will be closed for the Gaslight Festival Parade.

Fisher did warn Taylorsville Road to College Drive won't reopen until around 10 p.m. on Sept. 12.

From Friday, Sept. 13 to Sunday, Sept. 15, Taylorsville Road from Ruckriegel Pkwy to Jefferson Street and Watterson Trail from Old Taylorville Road to Billtown Road will be closed for the 2024 Gaslight Festival.

Fisher said any roadways that start with Taylorsville Road should reopen sometime after 8 p.m. that Sunday.
