Chappell Roan will now headline Kentuckiana Pride Festival 2024

The sold-out festival is expected to draw tens of thousands of people to Louisville’s Big Four Lawn on Saturday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A breakout star is now expected to headline the 2024 Kentuckiana Pride Festival on Saturday.

Chappell Roan will now be performing at 9 p.m. at the Big Four Lawn after Icona Pop dropped out as the festival’s headliner, organizers announced on Friday.

In a statement to WHAS11 News, Kentuckiana Pride Foundation President Rodney Coffman said Icona Pop had to cancel due to illness.

"We wish them a speedy recovery," he said.

The Aces have been added to the festival's line-up and will now take the stage at 7:40 p.m.

All other acts remain the same, officials said.

For the first time ever, the festival sold out of tickets, with more than 25,000 people expected to attend.

Since the United States has issued a travel advisory for LGBTQ+ people, Kentuckiana Pride Foundation is working closely with Louisville Metro Police for heightened security. In a statement, LMPD said it's aware of possible threats and is working to ensure the safety of festivalgoers.

"If you have any trepidation at all don't worry folks are planning for safety we're going to make certain that everyone is as safe and secure as possible," Fairness Campaign executive director Chris Hartman said.
