LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville spot just made the list of 50 best restaurants in the United States by the New York Times.
North of Bourbon ties together bourbon, Louisville and New Orleans to create a special and delicious Southern experience.
The owners of North of Bourbon shared their appreciation for the national recognition in a social media post.
"We are incredibly honored to announce that North of Bourbon has been recognized by The @nytcooking as one of the Top 50 Restaurants in America for 2024," the post said. "It’s a privilege to be included among such talented chefs and remarkable restaurants from across the country. We promise to continue providing the best hospitality to our community in Louisville, KY, and beyond."
Located at 935 Goss Avenue, this unique restaurant and bourbon bar sits in the heart of Germantown. The historic area has become a popular spot for Louisville foodies.
Executive Chef of North of Bourbon, Lawrence Weeks, found his love of cooking while growing up in a Creole/Cajun household in central Kentucky. He now uses his cooking talent to foster the connection between Louisville and New Orleans through food.
"Lawrence Weeks is among a growing cadre of chefs breathing fresh life into New Orleans cuisine with restaurants outside Louisiana," The New York Times said. "North of Bourbon established Mr. Weeks as one of the region's most exciting new chefs."
Some of the most interesting menu items you can try at North of Bourbon include scallop crudo, gumbo z'herbes, braised rabbit and crab gemelli.
