Kentuckiana hospitals celebrate first babies born in 2024

The first Kentuckiana baby born in 2024 was born at Norton Clark Hospital at 12:09 a.m.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The first babies born this year were welcomed at several Louisville-area hospitals on New Year's Day.

The very first Kentuckiana baby was born at Norton Clark Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana at 12:09 a.m. Amara Simon weighed in at 8 pounds, 15.6 ounces and is 20 inches long.

Baptist Health Louisville welcomed the first baby born in Louisville this year at 12:51 a.m. 

The next baby to be introduced to the world in 2024 was born at 1:51 a.m. at Norton Women's & Children Hospital. Skylynn Bol Heredia weighed in just over 8 pounds and measured 21 inches long.

Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown welcomed their first baby of 2024. Jason and Patricia from Vine Grove celebrated the birth of their new baby Lucas at 3:07 a.m.

At 5:26 a.m., Norton Hospital in downtown Louisville also welcomed one of the first babies born in Louisville this year. Dakota Sky is 6 pounds and 13.4 ounces, and measured in at almost 20 inches long as well.

Two lucky Louisville parents welcomed their baby boy Kobe Gibbs at UofL Hospital at 5:40 a.m., weighing in at 10 lbs. and 5 oz. and 22 ¼ inches long.
