LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Months after this bakery's building went up in flames, it is rising from the ashes and reopening in New Albany.

Back in January 2024, New Albany firefighters responded to the area of State and Clay Streets around 2:30 p.m. following reports of a person being trapped inside a burning building on the second floor.

That person suffered minor injuries, and New Albany Fire Deputy Chief Tim Kron told WHAS11 News they managed to protect Cake Ladies Dream Shoppe on the first floor.

So far, the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

According to a post on social media, the Cake Ladies Dream Shoppe plans to reopen at 421 West Main Street across from Wild Eggs.

Back with a new phoenix logo, they hope to have their grand re-opening on or around the end of June.

"We realize that is a very aggressive goal however, we’ll have all hands on deck and the determination to welcome all our friends back, old and new," they wrote.

They said if someone has a specific need before they reopen, they will try to be accommodating with curbside pick up.

Leading up to the announcement, the Cake Ladies Dream Shoppe had some fun and posted some clues about where their new location was. Several people were able to guess correctly before they posted it.
