LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) are asking for the public's help in identifying two men who are considered "persons of interest" in the fatal shooting at Café 360 on March 3.
A 21-year-old man was killed in the shooting at the Bardstown Road business. LMPD said they responded to Café 360 after receiving multiple phone calls about a man down inside of the business.
The victim, identified as Theodore Brown by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It's still hard to believe for some highland residents like Stephanie Greathouse.
"I feel like this is a very safe neighborhood, I was shocked when that happened but it can happen anywhere, really," she said.
Café 360 voluntarily suspended it's extended liquor license just four days after the deadly shooting.
Greathouse commended the owner for refusing to sale alcohol between 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. over the next six months.
"When you have people that are coming out and drinking until 4 a.m. I just think that's a setup for disaster," she said.
The crystal clear image taken from a camera shows the two men in a bar.
"When activities become so intense you have to have a cooling off period," Aaron Givhan, president at Highland Commerce Guild, said.
He said establishments have been encouraged to have active safety over the last two years.
"Screening, have trained personnel on site, after hours officers so you do have the authority to arrest," Givhan said.
He doesn't want another late night establishment to wait until something happens before enforcing heavy security.
"People will ignore signage; they won't drive the speed limit, they won't stop at a stop sign, so why would they not bring a gun with them if they're used to packing a gun," said Givhan.
Greathouse is pleased to see police moving fast in this investigation.
"I trust the police force I know that they do the best job that they can, I'm sure that they are all in when it comes to trying to find out what happened here," she said.
In the meantime, police hope the photo of the persons of interest will provide them the names and locations they need.
If you recognize either of the men in the above photo, you are asked to call LMPD's anonymous tip line at (502) 574-5673 or utilize LMPD's Crime Tip Portal online.
