LOUISVILLE, Ky. — LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Police have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting that injured another in Newburg.
Tyrin Currington is facing murder charges.
According to arrest records, Currington and the victim had some type of verbal disagreement in the 5200 block of Alba Way when he pulled a gun and pointed it at the victim’s head.
Currington and the victim allegedly got into a physical altercation over the gun and that’s when police said Currington got away from the victim and then shot him.
The victim returned fire, shooting Currington and striking him in the shoulder.
The victim was transported to UofL Hospital where he later died from his injuries. He has not yet been identified.
Currington was also taken to the hospital and later arrested.
He’s currently being held at Metro Corrections on a $25,000 cash bond and is expected to be arraigned July 6.
