LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Metro Police Department has arrested a man in connection to a deadly hit-and-run near the University of Louisville's campus last month.

Jeremy Neuner, 42, was booked into Metro Corrections on Friday. He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to render aid.

On Dec. 21, 61-year-old James Brewster was riding his bike along Third Street, near UofL, when police say Neuner struck him with his vehicle. Instead of stopping to help, Neuner fled the scene, according to his arrest citation.

Through LMPD's investigation, police were able to obtain Neuner's license plate number.

When authorities arrived at his home, Neuner's mother called him and told him the officers were investigating the deadly hit-and-run. According to the citation, Neuner admitted to being involved in an accident but "believed he had hit a sign.

Neuner told authorities he would drive back to his home for his arrest, however on his way home, he somehow struck a concrete barrier on I-65 and rolled his vehicle over.

The citation said LMPD responded to the crash and found Neuner unharmed, adding that he did not appear to be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol.
