LMPD seeking 2 believed to be connected to deadly Algonquin shooting outside Thornton's store

Police released surveillance photos of two young men believed to be involved in a June 8 deadly shooting outside of Thornton's on Dixie and West Hill Street.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Three weeks after a teenager was fatally gunned down in the Algonquin neighborhood, Metro Police are searching for two individuals are connected to the shooting.

The shooting happened on June 8 at the Thornton’s on Dixie Highway and West Hill Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found two young men suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of them, 16-year-old Sam Kamara, died from his injuries. Police said the other victim was treated for their injuries.

The two individuals, who appear to be young Black males, were captured on surveillance video.

Both young men were wearing black sweatshirts and pants – one with a red Jordan logo and the other with a purple Nike logo.
