LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man was arrested Monday afternoon after he was accused of stabbing a woman in Louisville to death.
Marcelino Yande Fonseca Martinez, 35, is charged with murder (domestic violence) in connection to a fatal stabbing in July in the Newburg neighborhood.
According to his arrest citation, Martinez and the victim, who police say were in a relationship, were engaged in a verbal altercation when the argument turned physical and Martinez stabbed the victim multiple times.
The woman was taken to UofL Hospital where she died shortly after her arrival.
Police say Martinez fled the scene, however, investigators were able to identify him using Ring doorbell footage and witness statements. He was arrested Monday afternoon.
Martinez is currently being held at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.
