LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A deadly shooting in southwest Louisville on Friday led to a 31-year-old man’s arrest and Metro Police say they need help finding the alleged weapon used in the crime.
Police confirmed the weapon is connected to the shooting in the 5800 block of Greenwood Road.
A victim was found inside the vehicle with gunshot wounds around 12:30 p.m. and was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Arrest records stated Patrick Anderson was seen on surveillance video entering the rear passenger side of the vehicle at the Circle K before the shooting.
When the vehicle wrecked on Greenwood Road, witnesses gave investigators various descriptions of Anderson allegedly fleeing the scene.
LMPD believes when Anderson was on foot, he threw the weapon that could possibly be in a bush, in a backyard or front yard around the area Greenwood Road and Daffodil Drive.
If you live in this area and see a firearm, you are asked to call police and do not touch it. An LMPD officer will come and retrieve the weapon.
The victim in the shooting has not been identified.
Anderson has been charged with murder, tampering with evidence and possessing a gun by a convicted felon.
He was taken into custody on Saturday and is currently at Metro Corrections awaiting arraignment.
