Bellarmine University releases plan for fall semester

Classes will begin August 20 and end the week before Thanksgiving.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine University is planning to welcome students back to campus in the fall, but with some changes.

One of those biggest changes is the school's calendar. Classes will begin August 20 and end the week before Thanksgiving.

"In order to minimize back and forth student travel, we'll hold classes on Labor Day and will not have a fall break. That will reduce opportunities for anyone to contract or spread the coronavirus," President Susan Donovan said.

Students will complete their final exams online from home.

The plan also involves ensuring social distancing and encouraging people wear masks.
