ANCHORAGE, Ky. — Anchorage Middletown Fire & EMS (AMFEMS) has a new interim chief, according to a press release.
Chief Kevin Tyler was appointed on Wednesday.
According to the release, Tyler is a seasoned veteran firefighter with 38 years of service in Louisville.
He retired from the Louisville Division of Fire before taking on the role of Chief at the former Harrods Creek Fire Department, which later merged into AMFEMS.
Tyler also served as the Executive Assistant Chief, "furthering his leadership skills and commitment to excellence in fire and emergency services."
“I am honored to lead such a talented and dedicated team as we strive to provide the highest level of service to our communities,” Tyler said. “Together, we will continue to embrace new technologies and strategies that enhance our firefighting and emergency response efforts.”
In September the previous fire chief Kevin Groody retired after three decades of service.
More recently, members from the department traveled to Florida to assist emergency personnel during Hurricane Milton.
