Investigators are asking for the public's help to track down suspects,

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. — The Jeffersonville Police had a busy weekend after two homicides within 48 hours left residents with many questions.

The violence began on Thursday around 10:30 p.m. when police were called to the 200 block of Kopp Avenue.

Dispatchers said a 34-year-old man had called 911 after being shot. Officers located the man, and he was taken to UofL Hospital where he died from his injuries on Friday.

About a mile away, police found 45-year-old James Truman’s body inside his apartment in the 500 block of Indiana Avenue on Saturday morning.

WHAS11 spoke to Truman’s neighbor who identified as “Shawn.” He has lived next door to Truman for months. Shawn called the crime “a shock” but felt better about the situation after talking with police.

“That put me at ease a little bit,” he said.

Police are searching for 19-year-old Anthony White in connection to the Kopp Avenue shooting. He has a warrant for his arrest and police believe he has connections to Louisville outside of Jeffersonville.

Back on Indiana Avenue, Shawn said his uncle lives in the same apartment complex but doesn’t feel safe as Shawn does.

“My uncle was shocked about the homicide, and that it was right next door,” he said.

Shawn said other neighbors he talked to are on edge over a violent crime happening so close to where they live.

Jeffersonville Police maintain there is no threat to the community.
