So. Indiana woman who competed on American Idol to perform in Kentucky in June

Her time in the singing competition may be over, but the show must go on.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Her quest to become the American Idol may have ended, but that has not stopped Kennedy Reid from reaching for the stars.

The Sellersburg, Indiana native will be a special guest at this year’s Bloomfield Street Concert on June 1.

Reid will open for country singer JD Shelburne who is headlining the event.

Her Idol dreams were cut short after failing to receive enough votes to make it to the top 14.

"I may not be the next American Idol, but I feel like a winner in my heart," she said via Facebook. "Out of 60,000 auditions, I made it to the final 20. That to me says enough. This is only the beginning of my music career and there are big things coming."

If you want to check out Reid, the concert in Bloomfield is free to the public. She’s expected to take the stage just before 8 p.m.
