LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kentuckiana Pride Festival said its festival and parade were a huge success.
Organizers said attendance records were “shattered” as nearly 45,000 attended both the parade and festival on Saturday.
Despite the temperatures hovering near 90 degrees, it also marked the first time in the festival’s 24-year history crowds reached 25,000.
The parade also had a milestone with 100 groups participating along with 12,000 people. Many gathered along the streets in NuLu to watch the colorful floats and those wearing their best Pride gear.
The festival featured a variety of entertainment including vendors, food trucks and DJs.
“Show Me Love” singer Robin S., rising star Chappell Roan and The Aces had many of the attendees up on their feet.
The Kentuckiana Pride Foundation said money raised will help the organization “promote social, economic and health equity of Kentuckiana’s sexual and gender minorities, as well as advocates pride, celebrates achievements and educates leaders.”
