LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is in custody after police say he stole a car and burglarized three Louisville coffee shops and a Shell gas station.

According to arrest reports from the Louisville Metro Police Department, on Oct. 3 a man, later identified as 27-year-old Trenton Kelley, stole a car.

Police say Kelley and another person committed a string of burglaries from Oct. 14-23 using the same stolen car. The pair were caught on video multiple times during the burglaries.

In the early morning of Oct. 14, reports say Kelley and another person broke burglarized three Heine Brothers coffee shops in a two hour time frame.

The burglarized coffee shops were two on Bardstown Road and one on Frankfort Avenue.

Kelley and the other suspect allegedly stole cash from the register and caused hundreds of dollars in damage.

Police say Kelley and the other unknown suspect also broke into two Shell gas stations, on Brownsboro Road and River Road, multiple times.

During a search warrant at Kelley's home, police also found a different stolen car than the one used during the burglaries and several stolen cameras and lenses.

Kelley was arrested on Wednesday and police are still looking for the other suspect.

An LMPD spokesperson told WHAS11 at the time of the burglaries that investigators believe the coffee shops were “targets,” adding there is no indication the thefts were part of a larger operation.

WHAS11 reached out to Heine Brothers for comment at the time, but the local chain didn't respond.
