"I will not back down from this, no matter the pressure from a few people," Piagentini said in a statement to WHAS11 News. "I will continue to fight and I will continue to act with total transparency as I use all legal means available to address and correct the politically motivated findings of a Fischer appointed board."

The committee includes Fowler, Councilwoman Paula McCraney (District 7), Councilwoman Andrew Owen (District 9), Councilman Pat Mulvihill (District 10) and Councilwoman Betsy Ruhe (District 21).

Once they elect a chair, come up with a schedule and meet with their counsel, the meetings will be open to the public according to the release.

If the Charging Committee decides to move forward with any formal removal charges, they may not be presented to Metro Council until early 2024 according to a news release. The first Metro Council meeting of the new year is Thursday, Jan. 4.
