LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In honor of those who lost their lives to violence in 2023, Louisville officials will be hosting it's annual community-wide ceremony, "Night of Remembrance," on Friday.
According to a news release, it will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Bates Memorial Baptist Church in the Smoketown area.

Faith leaders from the following religions will be present:
- Christian
- Jewish
- Buddhist
- Muslim
- Non-Denominational
- Protestant
- Catholic
- Unitarian
Linkin' Bridge is scheduled to perform, and Mayor Craig Greenberg will speak as a survivor according to the release. He will also help read the names of those the Metro lost.
Nachand Trabue, CEO of MELANaire Marketplace, will represent the families of violence victims. Her son was the city's 91st gun victim of 2023 according to the release.
According to the Gun Violence Dashboard, there were 150 homicides in 2023, compared to 157 in 2022.
