HENRY COUNTY, Kentucky — Powerball players should check their old tickets to see if they could have won $1 million. A winning Powerball ticket purchased in July is set to expire in mid-January, according to the Kentucky Lottery.

The ticket was sold on July 19, 2023, at a Pilot Travel Center No. 50, 489 Pendleton Road, in Pendleton, Kentucky, located in Henry County.

The owner of the winning ticket matched the first five white balls – 7-10-11-13-24 – earning them the secondary prize of $1 million.

The unclaimed ticket officially expires Jan. 15; however, with lottery headquarters observing Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the holder of the July 19 winning ticket must bring it to the Kentucky Lottery Corporate office, 1011 W. Main St. Louisville, Ky. 40202, before 5 p.m. EST on Jan. 12.

“It’s rare that someone holding a $1 million Powerball® ticket fails to cash it in,” Kentucky Lottery President Mary Harville said. “The ticket is expiring in less than two weeks; however, the Lottery is not giving up hope that we will find the owner and award them their prize.”

If the prize is not claimed, the Lottery will return the money to Kentucky’s Unclaimed Prize Fund, which lawmakers designated to support the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES).
