LA GRANGE, Ky. — A La Grange woman is in disbelief after she won $60,000 on a Kentucky Lottery scratch-off ticket.

Rose Richie told lottery officials she stopped in Fast Lane Liquor in La Grange on Oct. 30. She bought a $5 scratch-off ticket and to her surprise, she scratched off wins on all 15 spots on the ticket.

Richie quickly discovered she had won the game’s $60,000 top prize.

“I kept going and saw another $4,000 and another $4,000,” Richie said. “When I saw the whole board, I knew I hit the $60,000.”

Richie told lottery officials she called her husband to tell him the big news. “I said, ‘No way babe, I won $60,000!’”

“I was having an anxiety attack,” she said. “I told him, “Honey, please come home, I’m nervous. I’m making sure my eyes are seeing right.”

Ritchie said her husband was calm, cool, and collected and reassured her he would be home from work soon.

The next day, Richie claimed her ticket at lottery headquarters in Louisville and received a check for $43,200 after taxes.

Richie mentioned she and her husband had recently bought a new home.

“I’ve been praying for a little nest egg,” she said. “This will help us stay ahead.”

Fast Lane Liquor will receive $600 for selling the winning ticket.
