LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The injury bug continues to bite the University of Louisville men's basketball team.
Guard Koren Johnson announced on his X page Tuesday he will have season-ending shoulder surgery. The announcement came one day after the team announced forward Kasean Pryor would miss the rest of the year with a torn ACL.
"Card Nation! I have decided to redshirt this year and get shoulder surgery to make sure I'm in the best shape possible for next year and my future," Johnson said in a post. "I appreciate all the love and support."
Johnson transferred from Washington before the season. He averaged 3 points in two games off the bench before being sidelined.
He averaged 11.1 points and 2.7 assists for the Huskies last year. Johnson can apply for a medical redshirt after the 2024-25 season.
The Cardinals (5-2) are also playing without starter Aboubacar Traore, who has missed the last five games with a broken arm.
Louisville hosts No. 23 Ole Miss (6-1) Tuesday night in the SEC-ACC Challenge.
