LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville men's basketball program has lost yet another player this season.
Senior forward JJ Traynor is out for the remainder of the season after reinjuring his shoulder during a practice on Friday, UofL announced on Saturday.
The 6-foot-8 senior from Bardstown was the fourth-leading scorer on the team. He averaged 10.1 points and 4.6 rebounds a game.
Traynor hasn't played on the court since the Dec. 3 game against Virginia Tech.
Going into Saturday's game against the Pittsburg Panthers, UofL was down another two players alongside Traynor. Sophomore guard Tre White and sophomore forward/center Emmanuel Okorafor were still unavailable due to a groin and ankle injury, respectively.
It's unclear when White or Okorafor will be able to play again.
Louisville lost Saturday's game to the Panthers 83-70.
Traynor becomes the second player this week, and third overall, to be removed from the Cardinals' roster this season.
On Thursday, the university announced freshman Dennis Evans is not medically cleared to compete at Louisville anymore due to a shoulder injury. He had been sitting out since Nov. 29 against Bellarmine.
Last month, UofL announced junior guard Koron Davis had been "dismissed" from the team after conflicting statements from both parties.
