LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville and University of Kentucky football teams are getting closer to finding out where they'll play during bowl season.
Both teams are bowl eligible and the Wildcats (7-5, 3-5 SEC) may have earned themselves a better destination after pulling the upset over the Cardinals (10-2, 7-1 ACC) last Saturday in the battle for the Governor's Cup. UK head coach Mark Stoops nearly parlayed that rivalry victory into the Texas A&M job, but decided to remain in Lexington.

The loss removed Louisville from the College Football Playoff conversation, but a New Year's Six bowl is still very much in play. Louisville will take on No. 5 Florida State (12-0, 8-0 ACC) in the ACC championship game this Saturday at 8 p.m. You can watch that game on WHAS11.
