Cardinals head coach Jeff Brohm in running for coach of the year

Jeff Brohm is joined by 13 other semifinalists for the 2023 National George Munger College Coach of the Year.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In his first year at his alma mater, University of Louisville football head coach Jeff Brohm is already being nationally recognized.

According to a news release, Brohm was named one of 14 semifinalists for the 2023 National George Munger College Coach of the Year.

During his inaugural season with the Cardinals, he's led the team to a 10-3 record and to the school's first appearance in the Holiday Bowl. The team will go against the University of Southern California (7-5, 5-4) in San Diego.

He also led the Cards to their first appearance in a conference championship game against Florida State.

The award will be presented at the 87th Maxwell Awards Gala on Friday, March 8, 2024 according to the release. Tickets will go on sale Dec. 15.

If he wins coach of the year, he would earn an additional $50,000 on top of his regular salary and other bonuses he's earned.
