CLARK COUNTY, Ind. — A man from Jeffersonville was killed Wednesday afternoon after a crash on I-265 in Clark County, Indiana.

According to a release from Indiana State Police, emergency responders received several 911 calls about a crash between a motorcycle and a semi-truck on I-265W near the I-65 interchange around 2:45 p.m.

The initial investigation revealed that 52-year-old John Billman, the operator of the motorcycle, was attempting to merge onto I-265 from the I-65 on-ramp when he was hit by a semi on I-265 that crossed into the same lane.

Billman died at the scene. The driver of the semi was not injured.

I-265 was closed for nearly three hours Wednesday as crews cleared the scene. The crash is still under investigation, but officials said it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were factors.
