LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Frankfort Avenue is fully reopened as of Tuesday!
While there is still work to be done, Louisville Water spokesperson Kathleen Speicher said the orange barrels have been moved to open all traffic lanes.
The $17 million project increased the size and reliability of the water mains near the Crescent Hill Water Treatment Plant to ensure nearly a million people can continue to have high-quality drinking water she said.
Speicher said Louisville Water plans to beautify the area with 126 trees later in the fall of 2022 and put in a new sidewalk.
She also mentioned the Kentucky State Transportation Cabinet is scheduled to repave the road in spring of 2023.
Louisville Water partially reopened Frankfort Avenue Aug. 11 to two-way traffic with one lane going in each direction.
