LOUISVILLE, Ky. — If you fancy a trip to Boston next year, you'll soon have a new way to get there. The Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) announced Thursday that American Airlines will offer a nonstop flight from Louisville to Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) in June 2022.
This will be the 37th nonstop destination provided by SDF.
"Boston is our most requested route and largest underserved market until now," said Dan Mann, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority.
According to a release from the airport, the new service will provide more connectivity for industries like healthcare and tech, as well as provide more opportunities for travel between Louisville and New England.
"This is another boost for our resurging economic momentum, tourism industry and bourbonism scene, and great news for Louisvillians and Bostonians looking for a great city to visit with a short flight," Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said.
Tickets for the new flights will go on sale on Dec. 20, 2021, on AA.com. The flights will begin taking off June 9, 2022.
