LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A heat advisory is effect for the greater Louisville area Wednesday as heat index values are expected to rise well above 100 degrees.
The National Weather Service issued the advisory for 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illness to occur.

- Scott
- Dubois
- Crawford
- Perry
- Harrison
- Hancock
According to the NWS, heat index value could rise to 109 degrees. The high temperature Wednesday is forecasted to reach 94.
The NWS recommends drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air-conditioned room, staying out of the sun, and checking on your neighbors and relatives. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.
