LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville police officer who was arrested this week caused over $10,000 in damage after he allegedly crashed his unmarked squad car into parked trailers in Mt. Washington while off duty.
Taylored Renovations, the home remodeling business that owns the trailers used to hold equipment, tells WHAS 11 their estimate is $50,000 in losses.
"It's a total loss, and that's a huge chunk of your income as a business. That's a huge overhead to have to try to replace by yourself when it was no fault of your own," said Jessi Powers, the office manager.
An arrest warrant for Det. Timothy Davis and Taylored Renovations' surveillance video of the incident were obtained Thursday by WHAS11. They shed more light on the Louisville Metro Police Department officer's arrest. Davis was arrested Tuesday by Mt. Washington Police in Bullitt County for the May 18 incident.
According to court documents, Davis is accused of crashing into the trailers about 9:30 p.m. that Saturday night in the area of Landis Lane and Parkview Avenue in Mt. Washington. Police were not dispatched until about 1:30 a.m. when they say Davis called them hours later.
The warrant states officers arrived to find Davis removing items from his wrecked vehicle and placing them in another vehicle. He told officers he failed to stop at a stop sign, which caused him to crash into a parked trailer, which was pushed into another.

According to the arrest warrant, Davis told officers the crash happened about 1 a.m. Surveillance video later obtained by police showed the incident happened several hours earlier.
Davis was asked repeatedly if he had been drinking, and he told them no. He also told them he would blow a 0.0 if given a breath test.
Officers administered a breath test and Davis blew a .090.
Surveillance video shows the impact of the crash and the driver walking around the scene. According to police, Davis hid from multiple passing vehicles.
His wrecked unmarked cruiser sat for nearly four hours unlocked and unattended. Davis is then seen returning in a vehicle driven by a person he later said was his spouse.
According to Mt. Washington Police, Davis cleared the remaining police equipment from the vehicle and placed it in his spouse's vehicle.
Davis then appeared to dial 911.
The warrant noted Davis did not appear to be drunk during the course of the investigation. An arrest was not made at that time because a legal breath or blood sample could not be obtained within a two-hour window of the crash.
The Mt. Washington Police officer writes, "The only indication of possible alcohol involvement was from a single faint odor of alcohol during the collision investigation and the extreme lapse of reporting."
After further investigation, Davis was determined to have been traveling over 50 mph in a 25 mph zone. Police said a "large majority" of the information Davis provided to them was determined to be false.
Davis is charged with tampering with physical evidence and criminal mischief, both felonies, and reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
LMPD placed Davis on administrative leave. He was granted administrative release, so he didn't have to post a bond.
He's set to go before a judge for his arraignment on July 8.
Powers tells WHAS 11 they're now waiting for a response from Louisville Metro Government to their claim to recoup tens of thousands of dollars in losses.
