LOUISVILLE, Ky. — On Friday, authorities arrested two people in the deadly Café 360 shooting that happened at the beginning of March.
Louisville Metro Police have arrested Marquis Ward for murder and robbery, and Dante Smith for assault and robbery in connection to the incident.
According to the arrest report, both Ward and Smith got into an argument with another man and the victim, 21-year-old Theodore Brown, at the popular Bardstown Road bar.
Police said Smith punched the man and Brown tried to intervene. That's when investigators said Ward pulled out his gun and shot Brown in the head.
Court documents went on to say both Ward and Smith stole Brown's firearm and the other man's gun and ran from the scene.
LMPD said the whole incident was caught on camera, which is how they were able to identify both Ward and Smith.
Following the fatal shooting, city officials pushed forward with an ordinance that gives Louisville's Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) the power to issue emergency suspensions of liquor licenses in the city.
Café 360 temporarily relinquished it's extended alcohol license for the next six months as a result of the shooting. This meant the popular hangout spot would not be able to sell alcohol between the hours of 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. during that time.
