Hardin County Schools won't dismiss early Friday; What parents need to know

The school district said it has "no plans" for an early dismissal.

HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. — As bitter cold makes it way toward Kentuckiana, one school district said it's received numerous calls from concerned parents on Friday.

Hardin County Schools said parents have been receiving a text or phone call from a toll-free number saying that "school is being dismissed early" on Friday.

"That is not true!" the district wrote on Facebook. "Please ignore that false call, text or message."

District officials said the message comes from this number: 833-397-1266.

As of 8:30 a.m., school officials said there are no plans for an early dismissal; however, if that changes, parents will be notified by traditional means.

Remember, Hardin County students will have no school Monday in observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
