LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville and University of Kentucky football teams are both going bowling this season regardless of what happens when they face off this Saturday.
The No. 10 Cardinals (10-1, 7-1 ACC) punched their ticket to the ACC championship game over the weekend with a 38-31 win over Miami. They will meet No. 5 Florida State (11-0, 8-0).
This will be the first time the Cards will play in the title game since joining the conference.
UL will need wins over Kentucky and Florida State to have any chance to reach the College Football Playoff. Even then, they may need other teams in front of them to lose.
If the Cardinals stumble either week, they will likely wind up in the Orange Bowl.
Kentucky (6-5, 3-5) lost for the fifth time in six games last Saturday, falling to South Carolina 17-14. UK started the season 5-0.
UL and UK meet this Saturday in a game you can watch at noon on WHAS11.
