LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Another day of extreme heat in Louisville has now delayed Friday night's high school football games, according to Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS).
Today's high temperatures are expected to remain in the upper 90s, nearing 100 degrees. It comes after temperatures on Thursday soared to a record-breaking 102 degrees for the first time in over a decade.

In a social media post, JCPS said kickoff times for Friday night football games have been delayed to at least 7:45 p.m.
The district said parents should check their school's social media for exact start times.
Protecting yourself from the heat
Extreme heat can cause heat-related illnesses like heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heatstroke with prolonged heat exposure or physical activity.
Remember to limit outdoor activities on hot days, stay hydrated with water or drinks with electrolytes before you feel thirsty, wear loose-fitting and breathable clothing, and take frequent breaks in the air conditioning to stay cool.
