LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The best professional golfers from around the world are on the greens this week at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville for the 2024 PGA Championship.
The tournament begins on Thursday, May 16, and goes through Sunday, May 19.
This is the fourth PGA Championship hosted at Valhalla since the club opened in 1986.
Louisville Tourism estimates the economic impact of the golf tournament could rival that of the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks.
If you’re hoping to score tickets to the next PGA Championship in Louisville though, you may be waiting quite a while.
Where will the 2025 PGA Championship be held?
The last time Louisville hosted the PGA Championship was in 2014 when Rory McIlroy won his second championship. But the tournament isn’t returning to Kentucky for at least the next decade.
The 2025 PGA Championship will be held next May in Charlotte, North Carolina at Quail Hollow Club, according to tournament officials. It will be the second PGA Championship hosted at the course.
Louisville ‘Hometown Hero’ Justin Thomas won his first major by two shots in Charlotte in August 2017.
